Structure: English Edges: plain cut, marbled (same as endleaves), polished Spine Lining: moderate round, square joints, artificial paper hollow with 5 false bands End Bands: worked L-R 1x1x1 in green, yellow and red silk over a flat parchment core with a bead core. Bookmark: broad (9mm) black and yellow silk ribbon, laced under headband in centre of spine. Boards: 3mm rope fibre board Covering: brown tanned calf, sponge decorated with black stain, polished Tooling Spine: gold tooled drawer-handle pallet repeated across and filling panels 1, 4, 5 and 6; gold-tooled title a volume labels in panels 2 and 3.
