'and again on the 11th August 1865 at Blair Athol with Mamma George & Alice' [possibly written by Sir George's sister Margaret, later Lady Knutsford]. On same page 'Jan. 3 1905'. Provenance: With signs of multiple owners. Has twentieth-century pictorial armorial bookplate, a re-working of an earlier William Bell Scott pictorial Trevelyan bookplate (Franks 29799) of Sir Walter Calverley Trevelyan (1797-1879), lettered: Charles & Mary Trevelyan [i.e. Sir Charles Philips Trevelyan (1870-1958), & Mary Katharine, (m.1904).] . Arms: Trevelyan impaling Bell. Not in Franks. Binding has ''C Trevelyan' on front board in gilt. Binding: Full diced leather, rebacked.
