Provenance: Twentieth-century armorial bookplate (dated 1922) set in a landscape with De Lazlo's portrait of Edith Lady Londonderry in the uniform of the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps in a medallion above, lettered at the bottom of the plate "Edith Helen Marchioness of Londonderry. D.B.E." . Motto in Scottish Gaelic over portrait ("Tha mo cridhe's an tir nam beann" [My heart is in the land of mountains]) [i.e. Edith Helen Chaplin, m. in 1899 Charles Vane-Tempest-Stewart, Viscount Castlereagh and 7th Marquess of Londonderry from 1915]. Binding: Twentieth-century half brown calf on marbled paper over boards. Five false raised bands. Green leather spine label, lettered in gilt. Edges densely sprinkled red. Binder's stamp on flyleaf verso "Bound by Bagguley, Newcastle, Staffs".
