Binding: Twentieth-century Cosway-style binding: full brown morocco; miniature of Madame Lebrun and her daughter on ivory inset to upper board with double gilt fillets to form a frame and triple gilt fillets to form an outer border; elaborate floral gilt stamps as cornerpieces and at the head and foot and the sides of the upper board; triple gilt fillets to form an outer border on lower board with elaborate floral gilt stamped cornerpieces; spine gilt, lettered direct (gilt tooled): 'Memoirs of Madame Vigée Lebrun' and '1904'; sewn onto five raised cords; single gilt fillet on board edges; triple gilt fillets on turn-ins with decorative gilt-stamps in corners; gilt textblock edges; marbled endpapers.
