Binding: Twentieth-century full purple morocco; gilt fillets to form a panel design on boards; sewn onto recessed cords; five false bands; gilt panelled spine, lettered direct (gilt tooled): 'The love books of Ovid / Lewis May' and 'Illustrated by Jean de Bosschère'; gilt rolled board edges; gilt fillets on inner borders; gilt textblock edges; marbled endpapers.
