Binding: Early twentieth-century full red morocco; single gilt fillet to form an outer border; multicoloured morocco pictorial centrepiece onlaid within a single gilt fillet border on upper board; four recessed cords; two false bands; gilt tooled spine, lettered direct (gilt tooled): 'Charles Lamb / Vol. V.' and title of vol.; single gilt fillet on board edges; triple gilt fillet and gilt stamped cornerpieces (leaves) on turn-ins; gilt top edge; dark red silk endleaves.
