Binding: Nineteenth-century full purple morocco; gilt rolls and fillets to form outer and inner borders with gilt-stamped cornerpieces (small flowers); gilt seal armorial centrepiece stamp of Hudson Gurney [i.e. Hudson Gurney (1775-1864)]; spine elaborately gilt; gilt-stamped crest of Hudson Gurney at head of spine; gilt-lettered spine title; five false bands; four recessed cords; gilt rolled board edges and turn-ins; gilt textblock edges.
