With later sale slip pasted to front board describing both items: "980 Sykes's (Sir Mark Masterman, Bart.) reprints of Caxton's very rare tracts, from the originals in York Cathedral Library, [...] The present copy was purchased at the sale of Sir Mark's Library, in Pall Mall, July 1824.". Provenance: Blue and gilt leather bookplate on front pastedown [presumably relating to MMS?].. Binding: quarter brown calf; red paper; edges roughly cut; spine lettered vertically in gilt; as issued?.
