Provenance: manuscript capital letter written in ink at head of front fly-leaf: "S" (found in a number of Blickling's books but unknown as to what it means). Binding: eighteenth-century full calf; sewn on five supports; gold-tooled spine (cracked, partially missing at tail), with remnants of two leather labels lettered with gilt titles; bookblock edges coloured red and burnished.
