Provenance: eighteenth-century number written in black ink on recto of front fly-leaf: 2860. Binding: eighteenth-century gold-tooled red morocco; sewn on five supports; double gilt fillet border, single gilt fillet middle frame and double and single gilt fillet central frame mitred together with a single gilt fillet at the corners, the middle frame with gilt lozenge-shaped floral cornerpiece stamps and a gilt triangular floral stamp on each side, the central frame with a gilt floral roll pattern on the inner edge; gilt floral roll pattern along board edges and turn-ins; gold-tooled spine with acorn and floral tools in the panels, with gilt title and imprint/date lettered directly on the spine; all edges gilt; comb and swirl pattern marbled endpapers.
