Provenance: manuscript inscription on front pastedown: "C. & P. /" [i.e. the "collated and perfect" mark of the bibliophile Thomas Rawlinson (1681-1725)]. Binding: seventeenth-century full calf; sewn onto four sewing supports; doube gilt fillet border; gilt roll pattern along board edges; gold-tooled spine, with gilt double fillet panels containing a floral stamp; brown leather label with gilt title and gilt printer's name and date on spine.
