Binding: Twentieth-century half-blue morocco, vellum over boards; sewn onto four raised bands; gilt tooled spine with English lions in top and bottom compartments and crown above 'E.R.' in centre compartment; spine lettered direct (gilt tooled): 'Elizabeth and Essex' and 'Strachey'; gilt top edge; light blue endpapers; blue ribbon marker.
