From Sir George [Otto] Trevelyan. Mentions that he has found 'some pencil marks in the margin of Selden; but sadly and tantalisingly few'. MS. on flyleaf: 'My father and mother's book [?] to their old friend Sir George Trevelyan MM November 1921.' In pencil under MM 'Mary Murray'. Twentieth-century pictorial armorial bookplate, a re-working of an earlier William Bell Scott pictorial Trevelyan bookplate (Franks 29799) of Sir Walter Calverley Trevelyan (1797-1879), lettered: Charles & Mary Trevelyan [i.e. Sir Charles Philips Trevelyan (1870-1958), & Mary Katharine, (m.1904).] Arms: Trevelyan impaling Bell. Not in Franks. Bookseller's stamp on flyleaf: 'White 24 Pall Mall'.. Binding: Full leather; gilt on spine and on boards to form border; red spine label, gilt lettered: 'Selden's table-talk'; gilt edges. Spine scuffed.
