Orientation: Text Substrate: Album leaves of machine-made paper with compensating guards. The watercolours on handmade watercolour paper. Interleaved with loose sheets of acid-free tissue. Ink/Pigment: Type: BOUND BOOK Binding Type: Inboard binding, recessed supports & hollow Date of Binding: contemporary Binder's Name: English End Leaves: Bookcloth joint pasted to the spine edge of the outermost leaf and onto the board, with leaves of embossed moiré glazed paper made to the outer surfaces of the outermost album leaf and pasted to the boards. Structure: British Edges: plain-cut, undecorated Spine Lining: moderate round, angled joints, artificial hollow back of grey paper. End Bands: Stuck-on folded endbands of red and cream striped cloth. Bookmark: None Boards: 5mm strawboard with rolled edges Covering: half black tanned hairsheep with a plated grain, with a dark grey bookcloth on the sides with a large-scale pebble grain. Tooling Spine: 7 gold-tooled horizontal 3-line fillets, with paper label and ms title in panel 2. Tooling Sides: gold-tooled 2-line fillet along edges of leather, with paper label with ms title Furniture: None Enclosure: bookshoe - which does not fit.
