vii, [9], 431, [1]p. ; 11cm. With four lines of manuscript on upper pastedown, beginning ""Preach by thy life" said Gregory ...". With a small newspaper cutting laid in, (probably mid nineteenth-century), headed "Timberscombe" relating to the funeral of "Bro. Thomas Major", head gamekeeper of the Knowle Estate. Provenance: inscribed "Ann Moody The gift of Mrs. Olive Feb. 1836. Ayott [sic] St. Lawce". Binding: early nineteenth-century half black [calf?] sewn onto two recessed bands; paper over boards, badly worn.
