Below signature, a note by Frances Hills (1772-1849; née Bankes, and Lady Brownlow's 1st cousin once removed) recording its donation to her by Elizabeth and Lucy Cust after their mother's death (dated August 1847). Signature on another flyleaf: Emma Hills / Rocketts. 1849 (Frances Hills's daughter). Further note by 5th baron Brownlow (May 1926) referring to its donation to him by Mr E.W. Taylor, who bought it in Shrewsbury; typed letter to Lord Brownlow from Mr Taylor (on notepaper of National Provincial Bank, Nuneaton) loose inside.. Binding: Black grained morocco, gilt borders and doublures. All edges gilt. Silk bookmarks (1 blue, 2 black).
