Binding: Vellum boards, gilt with blue inlays; title in cartouche on front board, with 4 peacocks round it. Lady Marian Alford's monogram in corner panels on both boards. Spine title: Marian's boke of vaine glory. Blue moiré silk doublures with gilt inscription, incl. [monogram MA] from M.B. [perhaps = Mary Louisa Boyle (b. 1810)].
