[i.e. catalogue code of John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Sir Richard Ellys (1682-1742)]; with Mitchell's manuscript code at foot of leaf: "γ2/3." [gamma 2/3 = Greek number 3 2/3]. Manuscript code[?] letter on front pastedown: "H". One other inscription (price?) on front pastedown has been obliterated. Manuscript price[?] on rear pastedown: "1:10-". Binding: seventeenth-century[?] full calf over wooden boards; sewn on five supports; gilt roll pattern along board edges; gold-tooled spine, with fillet, stamp and roll decoration; dark brown leather label (partially missing) with gilt title 'HORA ARS POET MAN' on spine; red and brown sprinkled bookblock edges; no fly-leaves at front, nine blank leaves bound-in as fly-leaves at end.
