Summary
Bibliographic description
[72] leaves . 4to.. Identified in 1768 catalogue: G.2 [entered as 'Pedigrees of the English nobility, in manuscript by the Earl of Warrington']. manuscript inscription on vellum fold-down on verso of front board: 'Peerage by 1st Ld Delamer. 1640'. If the manuscript was completed within the lifetime of Queen Mary I (as suggested by the final entries: "Barons in the Q: Mary tyme that now is.") this dates it between 1553-1558, prior to the birth of 'Old' Sir George Booth, 1st Baronet Delamer (1566-1652). It seems musch more likely that this inscription relates to the acquisition of the ms., making the likely owner 'Young' Sir George Booth, 1st Baron Delamer (1622-1684).. Binding: Vellum over laminate boards; thick and thin blind ruled; four corner tools; same corner tool used four times to create centrepiece to upper and lower boards; four initials clockwise around centrepiece: SCKG; remnants of green silk ties; sewn onto 5 raised bands; compartments blind ruled or scored; head and foot of spine scored diagonally; manuscript waste at front and rear.
