Summary
A copy of a large part of the text for Webb's 'A description of the city and county palatine of Chester', published as the second part of Daniel King's 'The Vale-Royall of England' in 1656. Events and omissions in the text indicate that this version of the text was probably compiled ca.1621-1622, with some material, including a list of mayors up to 1636, added later. This may be a fair copy made for circulation among the Cheshire gentry. (Information from Professor Peter Gaunt, University of Chester)
