Provenance: Bookplate: Coronet and monogram "HSM" (no wreath) [=Harriet Sophia Parker, 2nd Countess of Morley (1809-97)]. Formal inscription in ink on flyleaf: 'This book as the reward of merit was presented to Miss Parker by her writing master at Miss Fisher & the Miss Willmott's, Bath Midsummer 1825' [= Theresa Parker ]. Binding: Blind tooled sheep, gold tooled spine, marbled edges.
Provenance
Probably part of the contents of Whiteway House, Chudleigh inherited by Albert Edmund Parker (1843-1905), 3rd Earl of Morley and by descent to Montagu Brownlow Parker (1878-1962), 5th Earl of Morley and formed part of the Endowmet to NT in 1957.
