Provenance: Inscription on flyleaves of all volumes; Capt. G. Scott, R.N. [= Admiral Sir George Scott (d. 1841)]. Stamp on pastedowns: Petersham [home of Hon. Caroline Lucy Scott (1784-1857), novelist and wife of Admiral Scott], with MS pressmarks G-a-1 to G-a-34, H-a-1 to H-a-13.. Binding: Sprinkled calf. Many volumes lack spine labels. Boards detached on vols. 6, 25 and 43 (all in conservation tissue; 25 also lacks back board); boards loose on 19 (in conservation wrapper).
