Orientation: Vertical Text Substrate: handmade wove paper Ink/Pigment: black printing and engraving ink Type: BOUND BOOK Binding Type: Inboard binding, recessed supports Date of Binding: Contemporary Binder's Name: English End Leaves: a tipped single fold of stone marbled paper made to the second leaf of a sewn double fold of plain handmade wove paper, the outer marbled leaf pasted to the board Structure: English Edges: plain cut, sprinkled with grey-green pigment, polished Spine Lining: semi-elliptical, square joints, continuous paper(?) linings End Bands: worked, L-R, 4x4 in red, green and white thread over a rolled paper core with rolled paper crowning core Bookmark: None Boards: 2.5mm rope fibre boards, back cornered, slips 1 and 3 of 3 only laced in, perpendicularly Covering: full brown tanned calf, with mottled green and black stain decoration. Tooling Spine: 8 gold-tooled horizontal bands, traces of a central tool, lettering piece in panel 2 Tooling Sides: gold-tooled double fillet border with foliate roll inside it, gold-tooled single fillet on board edges, gold-tooled roll on turn-ins Furniture: None Enclosure: None Binding Notes: Bookplate of the Earl of Morley inside front board.
