End Leaves: tipped single fold of stone marbled paper, made to a sewn single fold of plain white wove paper, the inner leaf of which is made to a full-size leaf of white wove paper. The outer marbled leaf pasted to the board when open. Structure: British Edges: plain-cut with plough marks, marbled (same pattern as endleaves), polished Spine Lining: moderate round, square joints, continuous lining of brown paper. End Bands: elaborately worked (direction unknown) with varying widths of yellow, red and green silk thread over double rolled paper cores with a thinner crowning core on top and a thin bead core in front on the textblock edge. Bookmark: None Boards: 5mm rope fibre board, external oblique back-cornering Covering: full tanned red-brown russia-type calf, diced on the book with not trace of earlier dicing Tooling Spine: mall gold-tooled dotted fleuron in centre of panels 1, 3, 4 and 6, surrounded by blind-tooled scrolls, titled in gold in panel 2, author’s name in panel 5, date and place across tail. Tooling Sides: gold-tooled thick/thin 2-fillet border, gold-tooled 1-fillet on board edges, gold-tooled guilloche roll on turn-ins. Furniture: None Enclosure: Bookshoe Binding Notes: 19th century bookplate of the Earl of Morley inside left board.
