Lewis'. manuscript inscription in pencil on title page: "Francis Darby" [probably Francis Darby (1783-1850), son of Abraham Darby III of Coalbrookdale]. Binding: Nineteenth-century tan calf binding; double gilt fillet border; gilt armorial centrepiece stamp, with motto on upper board: 'Ut cunque placuerit deo', and on rear board: 'Francis Darby Esq Colebrookdale'. Single gilt fillet on board edges and turn-ins; gold-tooled spine. All edges gilt.
