Binding: Twentieth-century half blue morocco, blue cloth over boards; sewn onto three recessed cords; five false bands; gilt tooled spines, lettered direct (gilt tooled): 'The Farington diary', 'Vol. I[-VIII]' and dates covered by vol.; gilt top edges; marbled endpapers. Binder's gilt stamp on front turn-ins: 'C.J. Sawyer Ltd. 12 Grafton St. W.'.
