Provenance: armorial bookplate: François Michel Crespin. Manuscript code (shelfmark?) on front pastedown: "N.[crossed-out] 21". Binding: sixteenth-century full calf; triple blind fillet border; central panel of triple blind fillets, with gilt cornerpiece lozenge stamps (armorial?) featuring two birds facing each other holding a spear[?] between them; gilt decorative centrepiece stamp of interlaced strapwork on a field of lines and leaves. Stubs of a pair of green ties on both boards. Spine has 6 raised bands with blind fillet decoration, compartments have gilt stamp decoration and gilt title on brown goatskin label.
