Provenance: manuscript inscriptions at foot of title page: (1) "m. a. 23. 4"; (2) imprint "Romae 1523"; (3) "Stephanus Baluzius Tutelensis" [i.e. Étienne Baluze (1630-1718), librarian to Jean-Baptiste Colbert. Baluze's personal library was sold in 1719]. Binding: nineteenth-century tan calf-backed plain vellum; green goatskin title label, date and fillet tooling on spine; red sprinkled bookblock edges; nineteenth-century endpapers.
