Armorial bookplate (between 1733 and 1754): Philip Lord Hardwicke Baron of Hardwicke in ye County of Gloucester [i.e. Philip Yorke, 1st Earl of Hardwicke (1690-1764), created Baron Hardwicke, 1733, and Earl of Hardwicke, 1754]. Binding: sixteenth-century sprinkled calf over boards, on four raised cords, remains of gilt spine tooling, red spine label, blind roll on board edges, red sprinkled edges.
