Provenance: Armorial bookplate (between 1733 and 1754): Philip Lord Hardwicke Baron of Hardwicke in ye County of Gloucester [i.e. Philip Yorke, 1st Earl of Hardwicke (1690-1764), created Baron Hardwicke, 1733, and Earl of Hardwicke, 1754]. Binding: Sixteenth-century leather (worn) over boards on four raised cords, single gilt fillet on spine, olive-green spine label, remains of triple blind fillet with foliage border roll on covers. Vellum manuscript waste used between leather covers and boards. Leather from top and bottom of spine missing.
