Binding: sixteenth-century dark red/burgundy-stained alum-tawed calf; sewn on three sewing supports; blind-tooled covers with a border of triple fillets and a panel of triple fillets with gilt (faded) cornerpiece stamps; oval centrepiece stamp with strapwork on criblé background, stamped so hard that it has broken through the leather covers and indented the pasteboards; blind-tooled spine with fillets, floral stamps, and gilt title label. Edges stained blue. Four strips of vellum manuscript waste line the spine.
