Provenance: twentieth-century armorial bookplate: 'Lyme', signed 'J. F. Badeley. fecit 1904' [i.e. Thomas Wodehouse, 2nd Lord Newton (1857-1942)] (cf. Wilson & Lee ‘Badeley’ no. 119). Binding: twentieth-century full brown morocco; double gilt fillet border; five false bands; gilt lettered on spine and upper cover; gilt ram's head crest stamped on upper cover. Stamped on turn-in: Bound by Riviere & Son.
