Provenance: Anonymous armorial bookplate: Earl’s coronet with motto “Nec cupias Nec metuas” around arms of Hardwicke quartered with [?Balcarres]. Manuscript inscription on second flyleaf in a nineteenth-century hand: from the Author. Binding: Nineteenth-century sprinkled calf over boards, gilt spine tooling, olive-green spine label, single gilt rope roll on covers, gilt roll on board edges, olive-green sprinkled edges.
