With an added portrait plate of Elizabeth Cavendish, Duchess of Devonshire (1759-1824), daughter of Frederick Hervey, 4th Earl of Bristol and Bishop of Derry.. Binding: Nineteenth-century gold-tooled stright grain green morocco binding; gold-tooled armorial of Elizabeth, Duchess of Devonshire; gilded red silk endpapers. A wooden travelling box (in which the two volumes were transported from Italy?) is stored separately at Ickworth.
Provenance
Part of the Bristol Collection. The house and contents were acquired through the National Land Fund and transferred to the National Trust in 1956
