Summary
Lincrusta ceiling paper with leaf design hanging in situ in the Turret Room. Main Ceiling: (See Turret plans from C1 - A6 and images Turret.E and Turret.W). Eighteen panels. Three cut around chimney breast. Working from chimney breast eastwards. 1st row A1 - C1, tear to RH panel. 2nd row A2 - C2, hole in LH panel. 3rd row A3 - C3, good condition. 4th row A4 - C4, middle panel border lifting. 5th row A5 - C5, good condition, fire sensor in middle panel. 6th row A6 - C6, LH panel border lifting and a strip of paper seems to have been inserted. North Row: Images N1 - N6, Turret.N and Turret Room Plan. Working left to right, facing door - water ingress at cornice height. Panel 1 - border lifting at cornice height in RH bottom corner. Panel 2 - damage to paper and missing piece. Panel 3 - border paper and main paper lifting at bottom. Conservation tape pieces showing where border has peeled back. Panel 4 - main paper missing and torn. Border paper missing. Panel 5 - border lifting and missing. Panel 6 - border lifting, tear to main paper. South Row from west: Images S1 - S6, Turret.S and Turret Room Plan working right to left from the fireplace. Panel 1 - paper lifting at cornice level and torn. Water ingress. Some border missing. Panel 2 - discolouration spots to border at bottom. Smoke detector in centre. Panels 3-6 all in good condition. Six is half the size of the other panels. Second Row: Panel 4 - good condition. Some discolouration to RH lower cornice. Panel 5 - good condition. Panel 6 - tear to upper LH corner. Circular Turret Ceiling: See images Turret.Tower and Turret.Tower(2). Circular ceiling created with four strips of wooden banding forming a square in the centre. Water ingress and staining to unidentified pink paper.
