Inscribed "Vauncey Harpur Crewe with his mother's love on his birthday, Octr. 14th 1879" [i.e. from Georgiana Stanhope Lovell Crewe (1824-1910)]. Binding: nineteenth-century half green calf, with marbled paper on boards; five false bands; gilt tooled spine; gilt lettered brown and red spine labels. Pencil binder's instruction on t.p.: "½ Geen Cf[?] Gilt edges. Back."
Provenance
Transferred to the National Trust by the Treasury in lieu of CTT in 1985 with an endowment provided by the NHMF.
