Bequeathed to the National Trust by Norman Norris (1917-1991). Inscribed on v. 1 flyleaf in Norris's hand: "Hodgson 22/4 '38 Lot 589 Đ3. Coll. Perfect NESN. Only 350 printed in small paper." Loosely inserted: sheet of ms. notes by Norris. Binding: Nineteenth-century full Russia calf over boards, very lightly diced; gilt and blind fillets; rebacked in reddish leather; green morocco spine labels with title "Ormerod's History of Cheshire"; sewn on five raised bands
