Provenance: Visiting card pasted on the flyleaf, lettered "Mr Ronald Greville", crossed out and replaced with inscription: "Darling [Edie?] with [much?] love & [... ...] from MH[?] 1928" [i.e. given to Edith Helen Chaplin (1879-1959), m. in 1899 Charles Vane-Tempest-Stewart, Viscount Castlereagh, 7th Marquess of Londonderry from 1915, by Margaret Helen Anderson (1863-1942), m. in 1891 Ronald Henry Fulke Greville]. Twentieth-century pictorial bookplate with an image of Strangford Loch set in a medallion, above which is a winged horse, and set between thistles and lillies, images of a horse and dog supporting an image of the Annunciation, and a row of books. Lettered "Mairi Stewart". All in a Celtic knot border with heraldic corner pieces [Mairi Vane-Tempest-Stewart (1921-2009) m. in 1940 Derek Keppel, Viscount Bury]. Binding: Twentieth-century full polished tree calf, gilt fillet forming a border. Sewn on recessed cords, brown leather spine label lettered in gilt. Glossy marbled endpapers, gilt edges.
