Binding: Twentieth-century full blue morocco; gilt fillets and roll to form a panel design on boards; gilt stamped emblems on boards (clockwise from top): (1) Father Thames; (2) emblem of Bridge House Estates; (3) portcullis [i.e. Westminster]; (4) crest of the City of London; sewn onto five raised bands; spine lettered direct (gilt tooled): 'The pageant of London / Davey', 'I / B.C. 40 to A.D. 1500' and '1906'; double gilt fillet on board edges; elaborate gilt roll and fillets on turn-ins; gilt top edge; marbled endpapers. Binder's gilt stamp on front turn-in: 'Asprey. London. England.'
