Shelved and uniform (as vol. 2) with the 1570 Estienne edition of Herodotus. Provenance: eighteenth-century Jacobean armorial bookplate (Franks 32206), lettered: William Windham Esquire [probably William Windham III (1750-1810)]. Various manuscript codes and inscriptions on front endpapers, one (former owner's name?) scribbled over. Binding: seventeenth-century full calf (rubbed); sewn on five supports; triple blind fillet border; small floral stamp in centre of both covers; blind fillet panels and brown leather title label 'Herodot Historia Vol. II' on spine. Vellum manuscript waste just visible lining the endpapers.
