Provenance: anonymous armorial bookplate (not listed in Franks): arms of John Hobart, 2nd Earl of Buckinghamshire (1723-1793) and his second wife Caroline Conolly (ca. 1755-1817), married 1770, with Buck and Talbot supporters, and earl's coronet. Manuscript monogram (sixteenth-century?) at foot of title page: MP. Binding: eighteenth-century gold-tooled sprinkled calf (worn); sewn on five raised bands; single gilt fillet border and panel, the panel with gilt floral cornerpieces; gilt roll on board edges; gold-tooled spine, with leather title label 'Decamer di Boccacci'; light brown sprinkled textblock edges.
