Provenance: eighteenth-century manuscript former shelfmark on front pastedown: "T.1.1.", written in the hand of Sir Richard Ellys (1682-1742). Eighteenth-century manuscript code and price in different hands on rear pastedown: "12e" and "10lt" [i.e. 10 livres tournois]. Binding: eighteenth-century full calf (rubbed); sewn on four supports; double gilt fillet border with small rosette tools in the corners; blind dotted roll on board edges; gold-tooled spine with double fillet panels containing a single tool, additional roll at head and tail, gilt title 'COMOE. ARISTOP. GR.' lettered directly in second panel, and gilt dotted roll along the four raised bands; bookblock edges stained red. Head and tail of spine damaged, partially missing but with endbands intact.
