Contains loosely inserted newspaper cuttings ("Field Ap. 6./07" added in pencil) between front endpapers, one reporting on snow in Norway, the other reporting an attack by a roebuck in the woods near Vienna. At p. 29 there is a loosely inserted slip of paper with a plant name scribbled in pencil ("Petasitis fragrans, Winter Heliotrope"). Provenance: Inscribed on first leaf recto: "R.F.H. Crewe" [i.e. Richard Fynderne Harpur Crewe (1880-1921), son of Sir Vauncey Harpur Crewe, 10th Bt, and Isabel Adderley]. Binding: Twentieth-century publisher's grained green cloth, black and gilt embossed. Rounded corners, patterned endpapers. Edges sprinkled green.
