With sixteenth-century marginal annotations, manicules (pointing hands), other markings and underlining of text throughout, mostly washed out but still visible. Binding: eighteenth-century gold-tooled full red morocco; sewn on five raised bands; intersecting double and single gilt fillet border with small star tool in the corners; double gilt fillet along board edges; gilt floral roll pattern on turn-ins; gold-tooled spine with floral tools in the panels and diagonal hatched roll on raised bands and tail; brown (originally green?) goatskin spine label with gilt title 'Longo Epist'; gilt edges; comb pattern marbled endpapers. Old repair in vellum at head of spine.
