Summary
Red leather writing board; the writing surface is formed by heavy duty cardboard covered in red leather. Set on this surface is a slightly raised area with leather corners to hold blotting paper. To the left of this is a gusseted pocket which in turn forms the base for six other assorted shallower pockets. Printed on one is a perpetual calendar with a sliding sheet of days beside it. To the right of the writing surface at the top of the board is a metal inkwell holder with a hinged flip top; this is secured by a twist catch. Two other push catches appear to hold the inkwell holder in place but look too fragile to use.
Provenance
Purchased from the estate of the late Lord Wraxall with the assistance of the NHMF and donations from members and supporters.
