Summary
An engraved chart entitled "A view of the volunteer army of Great Britain in the year 1806". 'Designed to commemorate the great and untied spirit of the British people, aimed for the support of their ancient glory and independence against the unprincipled ambition of the French Government'. Drawn, engraved and published by Henry Richter, London, March 1807. Inscription reads: 'To His Royal Highness George Prince of Wales, this work executed under his illustrious and immediate patronage, is with his royal highnesses gracious permission, most respectfully dedicated by his obedient and most faithful servant James Wilson'. Above the chart between the title and the dedication is an engraved picture of George III on a white horse.
Provenance
Transferred to the National Trust by the Treasury in lieu of CTT in 1985 with an endowment provided by the NHMF.
