Summary
One of two tailored ceremonial saddle cloth or shabraque with dark blue felt on the outside and a band of gilt metal braid around the edge. On the front corners is embroidered a coronet above the cypher VR. The cushion embroidery is sewn in giltmetal thread with gold sequins. On the back corners there is a similar coronet above a smaller cypher (V.H.C.?) within a garter ring containing the royal motto. The initials K.D.G. (Kings Dragoon Guards?) are below. Lined in white with leather straps.
Provenance
Transferred to the National Trust by the Treasury in lieu of CTT in 1985 with an endowment provided by the NHMF.
