Summary
Square needlework box-stool with a needlework top. The top is hinged and upholstered. The concave sides have only a skeleton wood frame, the base of oak on four round tapered feet. The sides are covered in dark blue wool cloth with red braid around the edges. The top has a white ground panel with a blue border. A chevron design has a griffon worked in petit-point in one band, a yellow roundel in a band above, and foliage, mainly worked in grey, yellow, brown and white. 19th century.
