Summary
A silver gilt and hardstone standing seal (a) in mid 18th century German style, the baluster handle chevron banded in lapis and other hardstones outlined with black onyx and gold wire, the flutes picked out in chased silver gilt foliage beneath conforming bloodstone knop inlaid with a flower head of alernate lapis and purpurine, the bloodstone base and matrix carved with a coat of arms, supporters, coronet, motto and mantling, red leather fitted case (b), circa 1840-1850
