Summary
A cream porcelain wash bowl decorated with rose pink motives. The top rim has a broad gold band with a thinner band below on the outside. The foot also has a broad gold band which is badly worn. The inside of the bowl has very worn rose pink grasses and stems with a suggestion of birds among them. The outside of the bowl has four motifs comprising three finches amongst a thistle, a flowering stem, six fledglings sitting on a branch and a leaf. The underside is impressed; DOULTON'S BURSLEM. The pink and black backstamp reads; COPYRIGHT / DEPOSE / DOULTON.
